There are many definitions out there but here’s the way I look at it: a doula is a non-medical birthing support person, plain and simple. Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve given birth twice so I’m kind of a pro at this point. The one thing I noticed throughout both of my pregnancies was the lack of preparation for birth and the postpartum time periods which is absolutely mind boggling to me. You spend 9 months growing this human, you know you’re going to give birth to them and take care of them, but all of the in between is pretty blurred in terms of what to expect. In comes ME, your birth doula! Do you have fears about childbirth that you want to discuss? I’m here for it. Interested in attempting an unmedicated birth? Let’s do it.
